Robert Girrard Collection By Thomas Kinkade. The Robert Girrard era, extending over approximately six years and represented by more than sixty paintings, in addition to being a significant period in Thomas Kinkade's career, also served as a major foundational and transitional period. It is the period in which Kinkade was free to experiment with new and unique color combinations which resulted in a distinct broadening of his palette, the use of more exuberant brush strokes and impasto, and the refinement of the broken color techniques of the French Impressionists.
